About the vCard QR Code

Typing a new contact into a phone from a paper card is slow and full of mistakes. A vCard QR code holds your name, number, email, company and more in the standard vCard 3.0 format, so a phone scans it and offers to save you as a contact in one tap. This tool builds the card and the code in your browser as you fill in the form.

What you can do

• Fill in first and last name, phone, email, company, job title, website and address.
• Leave out any field you do not want to share; empty fields are not added to the card.
• Pick colours and error correction for the code.
• Download a PNG or SVG named after the contact, or copy the image.

When it works best

• Printing on the back of a business card.
• Adding to a conference badge, email signature or slide at the end of a talk.
• Shop counters and reception desks where customers want your details.

Things to know

• Your contact details are encoded locally and are not saved on our servers.
• You need at least a name, phone number or email for the code to appear.
• Every field adds to the pattern, so a full card makes a denser code. Print it at least 2 cm wide.
• There is no photo field, and the phone number is saved as a mobile. Because the code is static, details cannot be updated after printing.
